Shakedown hots up in Brighton
After announcing a brand new home in the beautiful surroundings of Waterhall, Shakedown return on 19th July with a line up dance fans will love - packing big things into the one day festival in 2014...
The main stage gets the Basement Jaxx treatment as they bring their iconic live show when they headline Shakedown on Saturday 19th July. Joining them on the main stage will be fellow London duo Groove Armada with a high octane DJ set, guaranteed to entertain with huge crowd pleasing anthems that will have Waterhall superstylin.
Duke Dumont also rules the main stage – this huge breakthrough producer saw massive success last summer with Need U (100%), establishing deep house at the top of the charts and sending the movement around the world – receiving a Grammy nomination in the process! 2014 is a similar story so far as Duke Dumont secured a #1 with I Got U, which is still riding high in the UK Top 10.
Gorgon City – responsible for Ready for Your Love – also join the main stage line up, along with the purveyor of stand-out set of the Shakedown 2013 festival, Jaguar Skills, who returns with his ingenious mash-ups. Completing the main stage offerings are My Nu Leng, Kidnap Kid and DJ EZ.
Brighton’s very own Audio hosts the second stage at Shakedown – in the inimitable guise of MK presents Area 10 – of course headlined by the current king of house music himself, MK (Marc Kinchen). Topping a line-up that reads like a who’s who of house music, MK has a midas touch that has influenced everyone from Paloma Faith to Rudimental, and he doesn’t look to be stopping his meteoric rise from ruling the underground any time soon!
Hot Creations founder and Hot Natured member, Lee Foss will bring his diverse sets to the Audio stage followed by a more bass led garage driven house sets from Huxley, also confirmed. Completing the stage is Blonde, Treatment’s own Tom Frisco and James Moss, and two of Brighton’s best loved DJs – Audio residents Charles Green and Neal Schtumm.
And finally, the infamous Supercharged Arena returns once again in 2014 with an awesome line-up of bass-driven DJs. Returning for the fourth year, resident king of Shakedown and BBC Radio 1 legend Zane Lowe, is back to thrill with his awesome skill and electric atmosphere that only he can generate… seamlessly blending old school samples with brand new bass-heavy tunes. The Supercharged Arena will go into drum and bass overload, with RAM record’s own Wilkinson and Brighton’s very own Friction - Shogun label manager and Radio 1’s Mr Drum n’ Bass. Joining the already heaviest of heavyweights, DJ Zinc, hip hop dubstep legentds Foreign Beggars, Radio 1’s carnival queen B Traits, rising star Hannah Wants, and Brighton’s own Dismantle and Primitive People.
